The 2nd International Specialist Meeting on Amorphous Carbon was held in Singapore's Crown Prince Hotel during 14-16 July 1999. It was a great conference where people came for the sole topic: amorphous carbon thus the conference was well focused and useful, in-depth discussion became possible. Many thanks to Prof. Shi Xu and his group who put in great effort in organizing the event. I was my great pleasure to meet with the world renowned experts in amorphous carbon field, such as Prof. Bill Milne, Prof. Gehan Amaratunga, Prof. David McKenzie, Prof. Ravi Silva, Dr. Michael Siegal, Prof. Alberto Tagliaferro, Dr. Li-Chyong Chen, ... just to name a few.
